Arumuga Navalar (1822–1879) was a prominent Sri Lankan Tamil scholar, reformer, and Saivite revivalist who played a pivotal role in the resurgence of Tamil Saivism in the 19th century. Known for his efforts to preserve and propagate Saiva Siddhanta philosophy, he published numerous works, including scholarly editions of ancient Tamil texts and polemical writings against Christian missionaries.
