Anoop Misra

Anoop Misra investigates diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disease with a focus on the distinct patterns these conditions take in Indian populations. He chairs Fortis C-DOC Hospital for Diabetes and Allied Sciences in New Delhi and is Director of the National Diabetes Obesity and Cholesterol Foundation. A former professor of medicine at AIIMS New Delhi, he has published more than 350 research papers and serves as editor-in-chief of the Elsevier journal Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. He received the Dr B.C. Roy Award in 2006 and the Padma Shri in 2007.
