Andreas Brunder

Andreas Brunder investigates an obscure Tibetan-language pilgrimage text, the dBus gtsang gi gnas bskor, providing an edition, annotated translation, and biographical material on its author, a Brag-dgon-pa lama who made his journey to Central Tibet in 1916 and met the Thirteenth Dalai Lama. Brunder, who holds an MA in Tibetology from the University of Hamburg, situates the text within the broader Tibetan literary genre of sacred geography and pilgrimage, appending a bibliography of around 370 Tibetan-language works in that tradition. The book was published in 2008 by the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives.
