Anamika Roy

Anamika Roy is Associate Professor in the Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology at the University of Allahabad, whose research focuses on art history, religion, and the goddess traditions of India. In Sixty-Four Yoginis: Cult, Icons and Goddesses, published by Primus Books in 2015, she combines fieldwork in sites where Yoginis are still venerated with textual and iconographic analysis to examine these goddesses as figures of tantric ritual, malevolent power, and devotional cult.
