Amrit Lal Ishrat

Amrit Lal Ishrat earned his doctorate at Banaras Hindu University and later served there as a professor of Persian, Persian history, and Urdu. His descriptive catalogue of the Persian manuscripts in the BHU Central Library, published by the university in 1965, documents 937 manuscript items and remains a reference work for scholars of Persian language and literature in India.
