Amit Chaudhuri (born 1962) is a celebrated Indian novelist, poet, essayist, literary critic, editor, singer, and music composer. He serves as a Professor of Creative Writing at Ashoka University and is an Honorary Fellow of the Modern Language Association of America and Balliol College, Oxford. Chaudhuri's extensive literary output has earned him numerous accolades, including the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel A New World and the James Tait Black Prize for his non-fiction work Finding the Raga. His critical essays and experimental music compositions further highlight his diverse artistic and intellectual contributions. He is the author of Small Orange Flags: On Living during a 'state of emergency' and Against Storytelling.
