Acharya Jinvijayamuni

Acharya Jinavijayamuni (1888–1976) was a distinguished Jain scholar, editor, and preserver of ancient Sanskrit and Prakrit manuscripts. Renowned for his monumental contributions to Indology, he served as Director of the Rajasthan Oriental Research Institute and played a pivotal role in the revival of Prakrit studies. His extensive body of work includes critical editions and commentaries on numerous significant texts. Among his published works are `नीति शृङ्गार-वैराग्य नामक भर्तृहरि शतक - त्रयम्` (Nīti- Śṛṅgāra-Vairāgya Nāmaka Bhartṛhari Śataka - Trayam), an exploration of Bhartrihari's centos, and `भिन्नभिन्न विद्वत्कर्तृक - परमार्हतबिरुदालङ्कृत-गूर्जर चौलुक्यचक्रवर्ति-नृपति कुमारपाल चरित्रसंग्रह` (Different Scholars - Paramārhatbirudālaṅkṛta-Gūrjara Caulukyacakravarti-Nṛpati Kumārapāla Caritrasaṅgraha), a collection of historical narratives on King Kumarapala. Many of his works are published by Prakrit Bharati Academy, Jaipur, reflecting his deep commitment to Jain and Prakrit scholarship.
