A. S. Gnanasambandan (1916–2002), also known by his Tamil initials Aa. Sa. Gna, was a prominent Tamil writer, scholar, and literary critic from Tamil Nadu, India. He served as the head of the Tamil department at Madurai Kamaraj University and led the Tamil Nadu Text Book Society. A noted Saivite scholar and a revered public speaker, Gnanasambandan specialized in Tamil classical literature, authoring over 35 research books, 3 translations, and numerous textbooks and essays. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985 for his literary criticism, 'Kamban: Putiya Parvai.' His works include commentaries and studies on Tamil devotional literature such as தேவாரத் திருப்பதிதங்கள் (Adanganmurai Thevara Thiruppathikangal).
